Sustainability has become central to consumers’ purchasing decisions, as they seek to leave a better world for this generation and future ones. Plant-based has become the biggest trend in food, with 60% of consumers (vs 36% in 2018) believing that plant-based is not just good for their health of themselves and that ofe the planet nearly doubled (36% to 60%) from 2018 to 2021, making plant-based the biggest trend in food.
One way forward is to switch to plant-based cake mixes, fillings, chocolate or icings.
Another is to ensure that raw materials are sourced more sustainably. We are convinced that local fruit sourcing and a transparent supply chain from Field to Fork has a positive impact on our ingredient quality.
Finally, our Cacao-Trace chocolate is made with beans from our sustainable cocoa sourcing program. Cacao-Trace ensures a good quality of life for cocoa farmers, while leveraging our fermentation expertise to create great-tasting chocolate that is loved allover the world.
